Paisley pattern at heart of Iran carpets

Embassy of Iran in Belgium has published a video clip featuring the long history behind carpet weaving in Iran.

Embassy of Iran in Belgium has published a video clip featuring the long history behind carpet weaving in Iran and the bent paisley design at the heart of Persian carpets. The paisley pattern symbolizes Iranian perseverance and the fact that Iran may bend, but will never break.

Iran Mission EU's tweet also reads, "Iran’s Culture & Art Week began today. we invite you to take a glimpse into aspects of Iran’s art & culture. Carpet weaving is an essential part of our culture & art and the Persian carpet stands out by the variety & elaborateness of its manifold designs."

Throughout the long history. Iranian carpets have been described as many things. Sights of identity, aesthetic objects, roses underfoot and modern commodities.,The Iranian, or Persian carpet is a humble transcendence of art, a gentle reminder that the higher you soar, the more down-to-earth, you'd better be. The nobler you grow, the humbler you shall become.

Persian carpets are the firmament's descent onto Earth. Persian carpets are also carriers of intricate messages through their interwoven designs. Persian carpets capture the artistic imagination of the millennia-old nation and provide a semantic canvas for transmitting meaning and symbols across generations.

One important element in the Iranian carpet is the paisley design believed to be a bent cedar, And cedar is a tree that's planted in heaven, the tree of life. It is bent and seems to be a blazing carpet. This bent cedar, which is on fire has a meaning; it symbolizes Iran across centuries as a country at the crossroads of civilizations.

Iran has been the target of many a foreign Invasion, the foreign marauders have succeeded at times to burn this tree or bend it under pressure. They've never succeeded in breaking it. The message to remember the next time you see a Paisley at the heart of an Iranian carpet, "Iran will never break."
